The mind of fitness

TAKE THE POWER BACK!

Fitness 222

"Health and Fitness appear to be very simple subjects. “Just exercise and eat healthy!” I have found, through my 23 years of working with clients of all ages and stages...it is far more complicated than that. **What is eating healthy? What kind of exercise? How do I even get started? How challenging should the workout be? How do I avoid becoming discouraged? When can I expect to see change? What changes should I focus on first?** We are not giving ourselves enough credit when we criticize ourselves for not doing these “very simple” things. As well, we must look at our HABITS. Our minds. Our emotions. Our habitual ways of living, thinking and reacting. We must take into consideration how our thought patterns and long-held belief systems can create obstacles, and hold us back from living more healthfully. **James Clear ~ *" We don't rise to our highest goals, we fall to the level of our most broken systems."***

What to expect

1st Meeting: INVENTORY: Together we will take inventory of your Health and Fitness History. As well as, your social life, your personal life and your work history. Why we do this: Everyone's health and fitness history tells a story and shows patterns. Our social life, our personal life, and our work life, greatly influence how we take care of ourselves. Taking this inventory will reveal patterns that we may want to avoid or recreate going forward.

2nd Meeting: BODY CONSULTATION: What is a Body Consultation? A series of simple movements to determine what areas of the body may be: tight, weak, overdeveloped, not engaging or experiencing pain.

3rd meeting: EXERCISE PRESCRIPTION: A series of exercises and stretches based on the Body Consultation. We will develop a Daily Workout Routine and plan. What is the Daily Workout Routine? The Daily Workout Routine is a series of exercises and stretches designed to build basic core strength, restore muscle balance and address areas of weakness and tightness.

About Andrea

Andrea's love of fitness has been life-long. Skiing, tennis, swimming, running and cycling, became important aspects of her daily life very early on. She attended ski school, tennis clinics, swam for the town swim team and participated in cycling events by the time she was in first grade. These activities remained a solid and consistent part of her life through her college years. Then, she made fitness her job.

Andrea has attained certifications as an instructor of Mat Pilates and Hatha Yoga. There are several factors that make Andrea's model to wellness so effective. Not only does she have a rich history in exercise science, she has a passion for the whole human, mind, body and soul. She integrates the many aspects of self when helping her clients prioritize their fitness goals. She transcends the shallow and often fleeting visions we initially have for ourselves and taps into a deeper yearning, a return home to our intrinsic right to personal alignment.

Another factor that makes Andrea so special is she makes YOU, the client, feel so loved, seen and capable. She meets you where you're at in your life, emotionally, physically, even spiritually, and empowers you to see the potential she sees in you.

When you work with Andrea, you know that her guidance and support is not just because she's authentically a kind, good person, it's also because she an expert in her field with a heart of gold… how could we ask for more? When I first met Andrea last summer, I was desperate for an exercise program that was going to motivate me and keep me interested. Andrea's workouts fit perfectly. She keeps the routines varied, includes exercises she knows I love, pushes me to go a little further, but not too far as to injure myself. Not once have I had to drag myself to one of her workouts, I always look forward to going knowing that I'm going to feel great about myself afterwards.

I'm taking a running class with Andrea and I highly recommend! Lots of stretching/warm-up, then intervals of lunges & other exercises with jogging at your own pace, followed by more stretching. Perfect for people (like me) who have always struggled with running. Andrea's fantastic, too - super-low-key, funny, patient. Try it!

I love Andrea! It is such a pleasure to take her classes. She meets you where you're at, asks great questions about your fitness goals and listens carefully to the answers. On more than several occasions, Andrea has come to class with an exercise or idea specifically tailored to concerns I had shared the class before. It is with great kindness and knowledge that she creates beautiful classes where folks of all levels can move together.

Andrea's classes are great! I am just beginning my fitness journey and it's easy to follow along with. I can feel the exercises making me stronger. Andrea is very motivating. You won't be disappointed!

Bootcamp. Fun

------

This is a progressive class in two ways. The hour begins with easy dynamic movement/stretching. The intensity increases through the hour. As well, the first class of the series will be easiest. It will become more challenging with each consecutive class.

It is of utmost importance to me that people begin at the level they are currently at, and progress from there. Too much to soon, you risk injury.

Each class will bring in different exercises and may have a different pace.
